Hello and welcome to the next preview of Vingolf - Engage Knights. Today we have some Wind Attribute scientists, warriors and a war lord to show you. Each packing individual skills able to increase the power of your deck. Read on to find out what each card brings to the table and some interesting interactions they have. Enjoy!
Let’s begin with William Tell a folk hero from Switzerland who is known for his crossbow accuracy. Mimicking his sharp shooting this card has the ability of Target Sttack. Able to hit any enemy anywhere. Costing 1 Wind will and entering play at 200/400 this little girl is perfect for getting through all the tiny blockers such as Gretel and Cheshire Cat that are commonly played.
Next up is Geronimo a Native American tribesman who waged countless battles into Mexico. Like William Tell this card costs 1 wind will but this time comes with the ability of your opponent not being able to target her with spells or abilities. Since Geronimo has small stats of 200/200 it would be a good idea to boost her up by using your addition: resonators on her especially because your opponent can’t get in the way due to Geronimo’s ability.
With cost 1 Wind 1 other Will we have Genghis Khan, not quite the mighty warrior from history that united most of Asia due to sporting only 500 attack and 500 defence. However her unique ability of ‘When this card enters your field, recover 1 target Magic Stone you control’ allows you get maximum value from your stones. Because of this Genghis Khan effectively costs 1 Will. What makes Genghis Khan truly special is that this ability can be used to get more use out of your special magic stones. For example if you need more Moon Will or want to use Trues stones like Grusbalesta or Almerius more than once per turn you can recover the stone with Khan.
Hailing from Ancient Greece Archimedes brings forth mighty inventions and super intelligence able to outwit all other opponents. This philosopher, mathematician and scientist is a very capable card which has a lot of potential. Costing 1 Wind Will and 2 other for a 3 total Will cost Archimedes enters play with 600 atk and 600 def. While that is pretty standard Archimedes can power herself up!
Her ability states whenever a Stone is added to your Magic Stone Area she gains +200/+200 until the end of the turn. Now usually that means she will become a 800/800 if you tap for a Stone once per turn which is great for a 3 cost resonator as it means it can compete with commonly played 4 cost resonators. However we can abuse this ability with cards like Gretel and on the off chance Genesis Creation to put extra Stones into play turning Archimedes potentially into a 1000/1000 to battle with most J-Rulers.
Evolution, the prominent theory of how humans came to be was a concept that scientist Charles Darwin formulated. By order of natural selection the fittest will survive. Here we have the famous Darwin evolutionising our Wind resonators with her unique ability. While you control Darwin and have 6 or more Magic Stone all Wind Resonators you control will gain +400/+400 which can power up even the smallest of friends. For example Genghis Khan will become a 900/900 for practically 1 will. Even better if you control two Darwin’s the stat boosts stack! Khan will become a 1300/1300 which can rival the biggest of J-Rulers.
Now to get her onto the field you need to pay 1 Wind Will and 4 other which adds to a 5 Will cost resonator for a 800/800 body which is pretty average. But once you hit that magical 6 Stones she will become much more valuable. A cool tactic in order to get 6 stones faster would be to play Gretel which would also boost the previously mentioned Archimedes. Not only that but with 2 other Wind resonators on your field Darwin gives a total of 2000/2000 worth of stats out as she even gives herself a 400/400 increase! This makes Darwin a power house and definitely a card to look out for.
That’s all for the time being, I hope you stick around and look forward to the next instalment. Until then goodbye.
