Rise of the Ruler: The little big flame
“So would i, if i were Parmenion; but i'm Alexander, and earth cannot tolerate two suns nor Asia two kings”
Here we are once again with the usual episode of Rise of The Ruler to talk about Alexander the Great, one of the greatest leaders of ancient times, the Ruler who will represent the Fire Attribute in Vingolf!
The Ruler side of the card on Vingolf is pretty well known by now: a J-Activate ability at the cost of a Fire will and two generic Wills and another Activate ability where paying two generic Wills we can deal 200 damage to a target resonator, echoing what we previously saw for the other Rulers but tied to the specific characteristics of the Fire Attribute.
But once Alexander comes on the field on his J-Ruler form things are going to change a lot! First of all Alexander has swiftness, a really rare ability for a J-Ruler. Furthermore after doing Judgement she can deal 800 damage to a target resonator, often allowing us to directly attack our opponent after having destroyed this way an annyoing blocker.
The last ability of Alexander is the one that will make her a really loved Ruler by aggressive players, since every time she attacks, a target Fire resonator will gain First Strike and Swiftness, two abilities, that when coupled, can bring real terror to our enemy lines.
Alexander is accompanied on battle by some allies:
Pachacuti is a Resonator that costs only one Fire Will and he can surely benefit from Alexander's abilities and the interaction with Star Money, while Sun Tsu, for the same cost is a really interesting support: he can grant Swiftness to another resonator and this is an ability that should not be understimated, especially when the fields of battle are full of characters like Mephisto.
The Fire attribute on Vingolf surely stand out for the massive presence of the Swiftness ability, and like we remember from Valhalla's times and the infamous Samurai, it's really one of the strongest abilities of the game: for this reason cards like Ashoka, with her low cost and good stats, will certainly find room on decks where explosiveness reigns supreme!
We are closing today's overview with one of the potential finishers that Vingolf has gifted to the Fire attribute: Lu Bu.
At the cost of 2 Fire Wills and 4 Generics, Lu Bu descends on the field of battle with really respectable attack and defense values ( 1000/1000 allows her to rival very well with a lot of the most dangerous threats of the game) coupled with two really strong abilities like Swiftness and Target Attack. The last one has shown to be one of the most useful abilities to kill J-Rulers and Resonators with annoying effects.
As you can see the Fire Attribute is not losing it's identity with Vingolf, rather it's being enhanced in all its rampage allowing even more faster and incisive plays every turn!
That's all for today, we'll be back really soon with new and schocking news from the World of Force of Will!
